InaTrap kills insects with a touch of class

InaTrap Electronic Insect Killer

Who would guess a lamp as dainty and elegant like this one is a mean killing machine when we talk about all those blood suckers or even those other annoying insects that flies around your home?

Well, this fly trap came from the makers of Acase together with Inadays to get rid off those pests and those stinking insect sprays as well.

InaTrap Electronic Insect Killer
The InaTrap works by attracting insects with its glowing led light and a photocatalyst reaction where it omits a low level of carbon dioxide just like a human's breath to fool those insects with. And so, while those insects are lured into that mesmerising light, they will be sucked down by a noisless fan and into a trap where they will be crashed and chopped into tiny little pieces. Cut the last part though because they will only be trapped and maybe just suffocate to death. Either way, you'll surely have a peaceful and dreamless sleep.

Smart Bed, anyone?

Smart BEd

With so many things to do in the morning, making the bed gets a little nasty especially when you're being yelled at by your mom everytime you wake up, leaving it as it is. It's every kid's dilemma. Talk about lazybones. Well, if you're really that late or just in a hurry and still a little sleepy, you would just grab your coffee first, right?

That's why, people from OHEA, a spanish furniture maker has an easy solution for any reasons that you can come up with as to why you wouldn't want to deal with the bed making task at all.

Smart Bed
"Smart Bed" is the world's first automated bed that makes itself so that you can go ahead and leave the clutter. It works when set on an automatic mode. There's a panel on each side of the bed that opens where two mechanical arms with rollers extend then pulls the covers from the foot to the head of the bed. The pillows elevate and get straightened up by cords attached to it once the panels rotates and when the covers reaches the head of the bed the pillows falls on top of it again. No worries too since this bed is smart enough to know if the bed's empty or not.

A cruise and booze inside Guinness' submarine bar

Guinness submarine bar

Celebrating its 250 years on the brewery business, Arthur Guinness' world's famous Guinness beer with the help of Jump Studios designed a submarine bar where one can go about 330 feet deep under water while enjoying a pub-like atmosphere.

Guinness submarine bar

Alongside Nicholas Alexander, an engineering specialist, they created this under water bar made out of glass reinforced plastic shell that will serve as the bar itself without compromising safety sub measures. Its interior will give you a feel like you're afloat on bubbles -not from all that booze really, but quite literally.

A trip like this one was given to Evelyne Gridelet, winner of the Guinness Sea Experience competition.

'Discus' underwater hotel planned for Dubai with underwater rooms 10m below surface

The Discus underwater Resort

When a country has hotels like the Burj Al Arab, the Real Madrid Resort, the Burj Khalifa, and the Apeiron Island, something weirdly futuristic and forthcoming seems like a day to day affair almost. But then, when you have suite rooms 10 meters below the sea surface, all housed in disc like buildings, it does manage to divert your attention towards it, anyways. The ‘Discus’ as it is being called, is going to be a joint collaboration of Drydocks World and a Swiss firm, who have been in the mood to utilize the underwater space of Dubai to good effect, and pump in more for the local tourism industry to boast of. Even though this project is quite a few years away, it still has managed to already garner interests from around the world.

The way the hotel has been structured, is that there are 2 main portions/discs: 1 above the water level, and 1 below it. The unit below the water will have 21 suites rooms next to each other along with a wet bar. The unit above the waters will have the stairwell and common areas. The interesting aspect however, will be the underwater tourism opportunities, where by guests can operate smaller vehicles to tour the local arena and have photographs taken thereof. We could possibly imagine a few submarines for the local underwater tours as well, along with more innovative restaurants or common areas.

The Discus underwater Resort

Also, the other most important aspect of this project is that it’s an ecologically sustainable one. Though details will be furbished from time to time, regarding the engineering complexities, but eco-friendly tourism won’t disappear from the scheme of things.

Till more mysteries of this eco-friendly abode comes unveils, lets keep our fingers crossed!

Dutch Design Studio Converts Classic Jaguar XJ into a…Hanging Bookshelf!

Dutch Design Studio Converts Classic Jaguar XJ

We're all for classic cars with character being preserved and used on the road, but we’re going to admit that there's something cool about the idea of having a real life vehicle as a decorative piece in your house.

This is exactly what Dutch design studio Denieuwegeneratie did for one of its clients for a project called "Dutch Mountain".

The designers incorporated a classic Jaguar XJ (Series III, judging from the absence of the triangular windows on the front doors) into a room, by converting it into a…bookshelf and hanging it on the wall!

Dutch Design Studio Converts Classic Jaguar XJ

The process included removing the British limo's engine and other mechanical parts to reduce its weight and cutting a large piece off the roof, while the designers also transformed the trunk into a cabinet space.

Zeppelin house is perfect for you futuristic steampunk lifestyle

The Wolke 7 concept

The Wolke 7 concept, designed by Timon Sager, is "the perfect combination of travel and feeling at home." Slung underneath the doubled up zeppelins is a three floor house that includes all the comforts of home, along with several giant TVs, a hot tub, and what appears to be a full-size grand piano.

The Wolke 7 concept

The buzz-killing physicists among you are probably busy pointing out that there's no way the volume of gas inside those balloons can possibly lift a three floor house with a grand piano inside it. But you know what? This is a concept, so let's pretend that these are carbon nanofiber envelopes filled with nothing. Yes, that's right, this is a vacuum airship, eschewing a lifting gas for a lifting lack of gas, making it 15% more efficient at lifting itself than helium, which ought to cover the piano and the hot tub. So take that, physics!

Incident Tech's gTar gets teased, remains largely silent

gTar electronic musical instrument

What you see above is the gTar, an upcoming electronic musical instrument from Bay Area-based startup, Incident Technologies. It's got what appears to be an iPhone docked in the pick-guard and it looks pretty cool lit up in the teaser video after the break. Beyond that, there's not a ton of information about the thing available online, but we did some digging and have pieced together a pretty good idea about the thing. The device made an appearance at South by Southwest earlier this month, and bits and pieces have made their way into the web by way of startup site AngelList and social networks like Facebook, Twitter and, of course, YouTube. A posting on the former describes it as "a consumer electronics device that enables an interactive music entertainment experience to anyone without any kind of previous musical knowledge."

From the looks of it, the thing is a little bit Guitar Apprentice and a little bit Tabber. Unlike the plasticky Guitar Apprentice, however, this device looks like a genuine guitar (strings and all), albeit one with a light up fretboard for Tabber-like educational purposes and a "docked mobile device." The guitar also makes it possible to share music socially, though it's not entirely clear whether this is accomplished via the docked smartphone or an external output like a PC, though given the company's connections to the developer community, we suspect that both will be options, be it through built-in functionality or available APIs. The gTar is also being positioned as a music creation device, rather than simply an educational tool (à la Tabber) or a simple overblown Guitar Hero-style controller.

Paging Dr. iPhone: ThermoDock takes your temperature

Medisana ThermoDock

Is it hot in here, or is it just me? You can find the answer to that question with the iPhone ThermoDock.

The Medisana ThermoDock gets you one step closer to having a medical toolkit like Dr. McCoy on "Star Trek." This is an infrared device that plugs into your iPhone. Point it at your forehead, your dog, or your iPad 3, and take its temperature.

The nice thing about infrared is that you don't have to stick the ThermoDock where the sun don't shine. That means your iPhone stays at a safe distance from steaming coffee mugs, people carrying around flu germs, and grumpy children.

This gadget can also be used to check the ambient temperature of your room or the great outdoors. As we like to say here in New Mexico, "It's a dry heat!"

Medisana ThermoDock

So go ahead. Get hot under the collar. Watch a pot as it boils. Burn the candle at both ends. With a ThermoDock, you'll know exactly how hot that is.

The ThermoDock works with the free VitaDock app to track data. You can see how steamy you get before, during, and after a workout, for example.

The hardware component costs about $95 through Firebox.

Watch The Future, Smartphone Wrist Control Concept

Smartphone Wrist Control Concept

A new watch concept has been created by F.Bertrand called the “Watch The Future”, which has been designed to enable you to link to application on your smartphone. Enabling you to control and receive updates directly on your wrist.

The “Watch The Future” concept wrist watch can display the weather, your contacts, stock exchange information, SMS messages, Facebook updates, your GPS location and more. As well as keeping you update-to-date with the current time.

Smartphone Wrist Control Concept

The innovative watch concept would keep the application you use most at easy access, and would even change the icons location on the strap according to the position of your wrist.

Other options that would be available to add to the watch include the possibility to track your pulse and even your emotions. It even enables you to keep track of your phone by ring it when you can’t quite remember where you put it.

Unfortunately due to the watch being just a concept don’t expect it to arrive in stores soon. But do expect the technology to start to making its way to wrist style devices over the coming years, allowing you to interact with your smartphone in new and exiting ways.

Refrigerator magnet lets you order pizza with a single push of a button

Refrigerator magnet

Designed to appeal to consumers that are looking for speed and efficiency when ordering food, a pizza joint has created a one-step process to getting a pizza delivered to the front door.

Created by a Dubai-based restaurant called Red Tomato Pizza, the wood-fired pizza place has designed a fridge magnet that will allow consumers to order a pizza for delivery by pressing the magnet one time. In order to enable the one-touch process, the user syncs the ‘VIP Fridge Magnet’ via Bluetooth with a smartphone. The user sets up their favorite type of pizza order online and this specific selection will be tied to the user’s account. As noted by Mashable, the magnet is in the shape of a small pizza box with a lid that opens up, likely designed to avoid accidental button presses.

Once the user presses the button marked “Push for hunger,” an order is placed with Red Tomato Pizza. In addition, a SMS confirmation is sent to the smartphone synced to the button. If the pizza was ordered on accident, the order can be canceled by sending a quick text in response.

National pizza chains such as Domino’s Pizza, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut offer smartphone apps on the iOS and Android platforms, but certainly nothing as sim

In an attempt to generate buzz around the launch of the ‘VIP Fridge Magnet’, Red Tomato Pizza has launched two videos on YouTube. The first is a mock movie trailer rated P for “Pizza Lovers Only.” Shot like a typical action or disaster movie trailer, the video shows two guys in an apartment without any food and the only thing that can save them is the fridge magnet. The second video is more informational and depicts the technical process that’s involved in placing an order with the magnet.
