Japanese bank to launch cardless ATMs; to use palm scanner instead
.
OKB or the Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank in Japan will soon allow its clients to make cash withdrawals from its ATM machines without the need to bring with them their ATM cards anymore.
With the use of a palm-scanning biometric technology developed by Fujitsu, a Japanese technology company in Japan, this palm scanner will be able to analyze an individual's unique vain pattern where one will then be identified. Afterwards, he will have to enter a personal pin and his date of birth for additional security purposes.
OKB will be the first ever to use this tech without the need of cards unlike some other banks in the country who would still require them along with the palm scanning technology.
Come September, OKB clients will be able to sample this new system.
