Toyota teases all-new Avalon ahead of New York Auto Show
Toyota released a teaser image of its New York Auto Show-bound all-new Avalon.
Toyota released a teaser image today of its New York-bound, designed in the good ole’ U.S. of A., full-sized sedan. The all-new Avalon will make its way to the annual auto show in New York in what will serve as its worldwide debut.
The Japanese automaker hasn’t released much info on the upcoming Avalon. Toyota hasn’t even specified whether it will be a concept or production model. But given that lack of detail from Toyota, that could be a good indicator that this “new” Avalon may not be relegated to simply showcar status.
Toyota is describing the new Avalon’s design as both elegant and athletic. While we can’t see the car in its entirety just yet, we’ll have to take their word for it. But if the image of the car’s rear is anything to go off of, it certainly looks like a more imposing design language than what we are used to seeing in the Avalon (we’re definitely digging the dual exhaust), which could be a reflection of the car’s American design heritage.
As of now, Toyota has yet to release information regarding the Avalon’s drivetrain. Current Avalons feature a 3.5-Liter V6, but no word on whether the NYC-bound Avalon will do so as well, or even incorporate a hybrid system. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to wait until the car’s official April 5 debut at the New York Auto Show.
