Google's new patent: Advertising through background noise
Just recently, a patent was given to Google on advertising that literally picks up any background noise that would generate ads to appear on your computers, mobile phones and the like just based on the sound.
Some instances were described by the search giant on its patent , as what they call advertising based on environmental conditions, where a certain person calls up Google's 411 service for an info using his mobile phone during a baseball game, while cheers of the crowd and the sounds the announcer makes are picked up thru his phone. With this, Google's systems will be able to locate him, determines that he's in a ballgame and just like that, he will automatically receive ads related to sports thru his phone.
While some would like the idea, Google also acknowledges user's privacy so that they would have the option to enable them to block these sensors or simply just let it be.
