Explore the world in your hands with the new Barefoot World Atlas App
A collaboration between Barefoot Books and Touch Press gives way to the 3-D interactive globe that would definitely encourage children of all ages to grab one.
With the new retina display of the third generation iPad, it's even made more alive with all the colorful animated illustrations by David Dean, who also have illustrated the book. Children will be brought to different places in just a swipe of a finger or when one literally makes a little spin on the globe, then actually see and travel from one country to another and explore its places, the culture, its people and see its wild animals and learn about them through BBC presenter and geographer Nick Crane, who narrates while you make your journey. It contains 500 features including population, current weather, 3D rotations of historical objects from the Royal Geographic Society and local currency just to name a few.
The app is made compatible for the 1st and 2nd generation iPads at $7.99 and will also take a 1.56gb of your iPad's memory -a somewhat huge bite on your memory storage for this one app but worthy at that. The Barefoot World Atlas App will also be available in Apple's app stores.
