Acer H6500 Home Theater Projector Specifications and Pictures
Acer America has announced the Acer H6500, a new home entertainment projector. This DLP projector offers 1080p Full HD projection, and according to Acer provides “exceptional color fidelity” even in environments with bright ambient light.
According to Acer, it can display 24fps 1080p video content from a Blu-ray Disc (BD) player via its HDMI interface, good for showcasing widescreen movies created in the HDTV and Blu-Ray Disc formats. With 1080p Full HD and an image projection of up to 300 inches, film viewing in the home is close to seeing it in a commercial movie theater.
This projector has a rated brightness of up to 2,100 ANSI lumens, which can be dimmed to 1,680 to save power, and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Employing Acer’s eColor Boost II+ technology and wall-color compensation, the Acer H6500 maintains color fidelity on any surface, even tinted walls, according to Acer. The company also claims that the DLP-based ColorSafe II technology prevents color decay, which provides picture integrity even with prolonged use. Images are displayed in the native 16:9 aspect ratio, which can be adjusted to 4:3.
The Acer H6500 has a white and gray matte finish and rounded contours, with a control pad on top – an aesthetically-pleasing look and feel. It weighs 5.6 pounds and measures 3.3 by 10.6 by 8.1 inches (HWD).
A range of outputs provides users with several options for accessing content. These include composite video, component video, USB, D-Sub, and HDMI. With multiple-PC source input, several PCs can be connected to the projector at the same time.
With the installation menu, signal input from a notebook is no longer required to enable the on-screen display (OSD) menu, making projector installation on the ceiling quicker and easier. The IR remote control features the Acer Empowering Technology key, which provides instant access to all Acer projector technologies, which include ePower Management, eTimer Management, eView Management and eOpening Management.
With Acer eView Management, adjusting projector settings to suit any environment and content is fast. eOpening Management allows users to easily create a customized start-up screen for their projector, which can include favorite photos. This model comes with Acer SmartFormat Technology, which supports comprehensive wide-format PC signals, so there is no need to change the resolution of a wide-format notebook and wrestle with “signal not supported” issues.
An Instant Resume feature enables the projector to resume projection immediately after it has been turned off. The power can be turned on and off at any time during the two-minute shutdown process – there’s no need to wait for the device to cool off before resuming projection.
The Acer H6500 provides up to 3,500 hours of standard lamp life, 5,000 hours in ECO mode and as long as 6,000 hours in ExtremeECO mode. In ExtremeECO mode, the power consumption of the projector can be reduced up to 70 percent as well. The projector will automatically enter ExtremeECO mode for saving power if there is no signal input.
The Acer H6500 home theater projector is available now for customers in the United States at a list price of $899.99. It is backed by a one-year warranty.
