Virgin, not commonly known for its exclusive product launches, has become the first UK network to sell the Samsung Galaxy S Plus in White.

The Galaxy S Plus is essentially an upgraded version of Samsung‘s original Galaxy flagship, and the new white model sports – as you can see from the official image (right) sports a pearly-white battery cover and surrounding bezel. This glossy-plastic casing houses the phone’s 1.4GHz processor and 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, which comes skinned in Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. This sits atop the phone’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread update – and it’s still unclear whether this will be bumped to ICS.

Other features include a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera capable of filming 720p HD footage, a front-facing video-call camera, 8GB of built-in memory, GPS, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity and a 1650mAh battery.

Over at Virgin, you can pick up the White Samsung Galaxy S Plus for free on a £15.99 contract, although this’ll get you a mere 75 minutes, 250 texts and 250MB data. We’d recommend upgrading to the network’s 24 month £30.99 tariff, which will equip the phone with 300 minutes, 2500 texts, 500MB data three months free Spotify Premium.
