Plextor is about to launch a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs ‘PX-M2P’ for the mass market. Coming in both 128GB and 256GB capacities, these 2.5-inch SSDs are packed with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a Marvell 88SS9174 controller, TRIM support, a MTBF of 1.2 million hours and capable of delivering read/write speeds of up to 500/320 MB/s (128GB model) and 500/440 MB/s (256GB model), respectively. The 128GB and 256GB models will start shipping from October 8th for 21,800 Yen (about $284) and 46,800 Yen (about $610), respectively.
