Intel gets unlimited open WiFi connections

Intel, working alongside Devicescape will give Intel-powered devices like ultrabooks and tablets extra boost when you talk about WiFi connectivity.
Apparently, Devicescape is packed with CVN or the Curated Virtual Network where you can access millions of WiFi hotspots in your range even when you're not using your laptop. In that case, you'll be automatically connected, thanks to "Smart Connect", that will work both on lid open and lid closed according to David Fraser, Devicescape CEO . And when you turn your device on, you'll see for yourself that softwares are updated, emails are received like you never went offline at all.

As most of the laptops to date are yet to be equipped with mobile internet connection, Devicescape's software will be integrated on Intel gadgets soon.

Intel refreshes set-top silicon with Atom CE5300 Media Processor, aka Berryville

Intel's empire-building in non-PC markets could almost be considered Napoleonic, were it not so inherently rational. Having given us the lauded Medfield SoC for smartphones and tablets, it has now announced its next-gen processor for cable boxes.

Nicknamed "Berryville", the dual-core Atom CE5300 is loaded up with integrated 2D/3D graphics, hyperthreading, virtualization and ultra-realistic car chases, which Intel hopes will allow Pay TV providers to offer smarter services, like gaming, home security and home automation. Can't let ARM have all the fun now, can we?
