Wind Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G Specifications and Pictures
Last month WIND Mobile confirmed plans to release the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, but the carrier did not reveal any details regarding the phone’s release date or pricing options.
However, the carrier introduced the smartphone today without further notice. The two-year old Android phone is now available for purchase for as low as $49 CAD (38 EUR) on WINDtab for the WIND40 plan.
In addition, the Galaxy S 4G is also up for grabs for $249 (190 EUR) on WINDtab with the WIND25 plan. Furthermore, customers who do not want to commit to a long-term contract can get the handset for $399 CAD (310 EUR) outright.
The smartphone is only available in black. It is also worth mentioning WIND Mobile offers free shipping to anywhere in Canada through Canada Post.
According to the carrier, “featuring download speeds of up to 21 Mbps on our network, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G moves at high velocity, which means you can do more, see more, and experience more.”
It’s unclear why WIND Mobile decided to release such an old device when most Canadian carriers are preparing to launch the latest devices announced last month at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona.
This seems to be a requirement coming from Samsung in order to give WIND Mobile the possibility to offer the next Galaxy S device.
All in all, those who still fall for this device should know that the Galaxy S 4G comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, rather than Froyo.
On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor and packs 8GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
WIND Mobile also confirms that the sales package includes a free 8GB memory card, though Samsung states that the phone will be delivered with a 16GB memory card.
