Storage Options has announced the Scroll Extreme, its first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet which is available to pre-order for less than £200.

The Scroll Extreme has a modest price of £189 but comes with some reasonable specifications. It has a 9.7-inch in-plane switching (IPS) touchscreen which, unlike a lot of budget rivals, uses capacitive instead of resistive technology. It has a resolution of 1024 x 768 matching that of the Apple iPad 2.

Paul Evison, head of brand at Storage Options said, “We have always known that our customers wanted quick, slick and responsive devices that are packed with features, without the burden of a premium price tag and the Scroll Extreme really does deliver exactly that.”

An ARM Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor powers the Scroll Extreme which is backed up by a Mali-400 dual-core graphics chip, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot for up to a further 32GB.

Storage Options has also included WiFi, mini-HDMI, a G-Sensor, a 2MP rear facing camera and a 0.3MP front facing camera. The Scroll Extreme supports Flash and comes in a slim 9.9mm thick aluminium case.

The tablet is exclusively available to pre-order from eBuyer for £189 and will start shipping on 1 April.
