Pioneer is about to release their newest 12x internal Blu-ray writer in Japan. Codenamed BDR-S07J, the drive features a 4MB of buffer memory, a SATA connection interface and promises to provide write speeds of 12x for BD-R, 12x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE (DL) and 16x for DVD-R/+R. The BDR-S07J will start shipping in Japan from mid-February for around 25,000 Yen (about $328).
