Motorola Gleam+ Clamshell Handset Specifications and Pictures
Motorola has announced the GLEAM+, a new flip phone that improves upon the original GLEAM with a thinner design and an HTML web browser.
The GLEAM+ features a striking external display comprised of a matrix of LEDs that are used to inform the user of the time or of any new messages or missed calls. Inside the flip is a 2.8" WQVGA (400 x 240 pixel) color display and a traditional 12-key number pad. A 2 megapixel camera on the back of the phone can record stills or video, and the GLEAM+'s 750mAh battery provides nearly 5 hours of talk time or over 17 days of standby. The GLEAM+ measures 107mm x 52.5mm x 13.5mm (4.2in x 2.1in x 0.53in) and weighs 105g (3.7oz).
Motorola's GLEAM+ supports both POP3 and IMAP email services, and users can browse the web on the HTML browser. There is an FM radio built in, as well as an MP3 player and support for microSD cards. The GLEAM+ runs on 900/1800MHz GSM networks, so it is basically relegated to European use.
Motorola will offer the GLEAM+ in silver or white in Germany in March. It is expected to cost 99 EUR (US$132) without a contract.
