Back at the CES, ZTE flaunted its first tablet with Quad core Tegra 3 chip aka ‘Kal-El’. The slate sure does belong to the high-end category but we do miss the part where the company would present its new models of budget-friendly tablets. That doesn’t seem to be the case now as the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer is getting ready for the upcoming release of its ZTE V9A Light Tab 2 Android Tablet in the UK.

That’s right! We have just found out that Clove, one of UK’s leading e-retailers, posted an announcement stating that the ZTE V9A Light Tab 2 will be hitting the store’s shelves this late February. There’s no specific date as to when the affordable-priced slate will go on sale but it will certainly be made available before the end of next month. If you want, you can pre-order the tablet for £234.99 (around $368) that’s already inclusive of VAT.

The V9A Light Tab 2 from ZTE may not be as affordable as Ainol’s NOVO 7 Elf but it can definitely take pride of its 7 inch multi-touch display with 1024 x 600 pixels of full screen resolution. Nonetheless, the Elf does have an edge since it’s powered by Google’s latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The V9A, on the other hand, will be equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But that’s just a few of what you can get. The tablet does have a reliable 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chip that goes alongside with its 3.2 mega pixel rear camera, 0.3 mega pixel front camera, 4GB of ROM, up to 32GB of external storage via micro SDHC and 512MB of memory. In terms of connectivity, you can be assured that you won’t run out of options since the tablet will be offering its built-in support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G.
