It looks like Intel's new mobile Atom processors are finding their way onto several mini-ITX motherboards and Jetway has joined the fray with a low-profile model of its own, not that dissimilar to Intel's own DN2800MT in many ways. The NF9C as the model is called is clearly targeting the industrial PC market, unlike Intel's board, although it appears to be suitable for all-in-one systems making it a bit of an oddball board.

Jetway offers the NF9C with an Atom N2600 processor or optionally an N2800 and there appears to be a few different SKUs of the model beyond that, as it either comes with one or two SO-DIMM slots and various LVDS options. In terms of expansion options, Jetway is going old school with a single PCI slot, although there's also a full-size mini PCI Express slot. Oddly enough Jetway has also included a SATA 6Gbps controller that adds a pair of ports, as well as a CFast slot which is connected to one of the SATA 3Gbps ports of the NM10 chipsets.

The rear I/O is spartan even compared to Intel's fairly modest offering of ports on the DN2800MT with only three USB 2.0 ports, a single Gigabit Ethernet port, a single audio jack for line out and optical S/PDIF out, an HDMI port and a serial port. There's also a power connector here that accepts 12V. There are a wide range of headers on the board for up to three additional serial ports, a D-sub connector, a parallel port, an additional four USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 port, a GPIO header and the aforementioned LVDS options and this is what makes this more of an industrial PC board than anything else.

Retailing for US$150 (S$189) the board is also over US$50 more than Intel's DN2800MT and that's the model with the N2600 processor making this a fairly unappealing option for consumers that want to build a low-profile HTPC or something similar. We'd really like to see some more consumer focused mini-ITX boards from Jetway, as the company has a wide range of industrial PC boards that are so close to being suitable for consumer applications, yet are so far away when it comes to cost that no-one would seriously consider them over more affordable alternatives.
