The Pantech Burst was announced on the first day of CES 2012 as an inexpensive 4G LTE Android smartphone. At only $49 with a two-year AT&T contract, you get a 4-inch Super AMOLED display powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 16GB on-board memory (expandable to 32GB). Another option is to get a bundle contract with the Pantech Element Honeycomb tablet—and the phone will be free. Not bad if you need a fast smartphone minus the expensive price.

In addition to its specs, the phone has a 5MP camera with video capture of up to 720p resolution. A VGA camera is also available for video chat. The Burst will be sold in two different colors: red and titanium. Its battery cover has been given a brushed effect, giving the device a high end appeal.

The Pantech Burst will be available in AT&T stores starting January 22.
