Tascam DR-100mkII High-end Recorder Specifications and Pictures
Tascam has launched the DR-100mkII, PCM recorder application and US-125M USB audio interface.
The DR-100mkII 24 bit/96kHz linear PCM recorder (pictured) is a rugged recorder that offers high-end recording features to musicians and engineers who demand more from their portable recorder.
It includes four built-in microphones – two cardioid and two omnidirectional – for great sounding recordings, a pair of XLR microphone inputs with phantom power for professional-grade condenser microphones and line in and out connectors. The new and improved version of the DR-100 adds balanced line ins, S/PDIF digital inputs, locking connectors and more.
The PCM Recorder Application for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch turns an Apple device into a stereo recorder based on the Tascam DR series. The free-to-download PCM recorder app has input and output level faders with an 'on-screen' meter to help the user check levels.
High and low EQ are also built-in, as well as stereo limiting and a low cut filter to prevent overload. The app lets the user record mono or stereo files at CD quality for up to 12 hours.
The US-125M interface combines a mic, instrument and line source with a computer audio signal and feeds the mix to a computer via USB. It provides up to 16 bit/48 KHz audio resolution and is ideal for broadcasting over the Internet.
It features four inputs with dedicated level controls: a microphone input (balanced XLR/TRS on rear or unbalanced mini jack on front) with switchable limiter and signal/overload indicator, a guitar input (standard phone jack), stereo line input (RCA) and a stereo audio input from computer via USB.
