Razer Blade Gaming Laptop Specifications and Pictures
It looks like Razer's Blade gaming laptop won't be shipping in time for the holidays, as initially anticipated.
Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan explained the delay on Razer's Facebook page.
Because of the eleventh-hour upgrade from a 320GB spinning hard drive to a 256GB solid-state drive, Razer was unable to "secure quantities of the new SSDs to arrive at [their] manufacturing facilities at the last minute and as a result, [Razer] will not be able to fulfill [its] initial launch orders of the [Blade] before the holidays," Tan wrote. Instead, the company is expecting the laptop to ship in mid to late January for North American customers.
To make up for the delay, however, Razer is willing to supply customers with a free Orochi mouse, provided you sign up to receive a notification when they ship on the Blade's product page.
The Razer Blade features a 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-2640M processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 555M (2GB) discrete graphics chip with Optimus technology, which will help extend your battery's life when you're not gaming. It also comes complete with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 (for connecting wireless peripherals), Ethernet jack, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and 3.5mm headphone and mic combo jack. However, the Blade's most attractive feature, aside from the internal components and the black aluminum chassis, is the touchpad that resides to the right of the chiclet keyboard. The touchpad doubles as a secondary screen, displaying your character's stats and health in-game. Above this touchpad are 10 dynamic tactile buttons that can be programmed as hotkeys to execute commands.
