Budget-busting tablet maker Storage Options has announced the imminent arrival of the Scroll Excel, which is a 7″ Android 2.3 tablet with a capacitive touch screen. For £129. That’s a price level only Kogan has been able to get anywhere near with its capacitive Agoras.

Inside, you get a Cortex A8 running at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM with 4GB of media storage space, plus there’s an HDMI output for linking it up to a whopping great TV.

The only real downer is that in this age of Android 3.0 and 4.0, seeing a tablet arrive with 2.3 is a little underwhelming. Still, good tech for the money, plus the company is also launching the Scroll Essential 7” Tablet – with a resistive screen for a bonkers £69.99. New.
