Bell Canada Galaxy Nexus Smartphone Specifications and Pictures
As you may know, Samsung just released its Galaxy Nexus smartphone in UK last week, through the O2 and Three retailers; now, as expected, Canada will be the next country to receive the phone with Bell and Virgin Mobile in pole position. Furthermore, the Canadian carriers announced the phone’s official release date along with the future pricing offers, so you can start making pre-orders, which by the way are available starting from today. The US customers are still waiting to join the group, but unfortunately for them, there are still no clues about a solid Galaxy Nexus launch date through their market.
As for the Bell and Virgin Mobile Canada Samsung Galaxy release date, according to retailers, those interested will be able to get the handset next month, on December 8th. Don’t forget that you can already make pre-orders ( starting from today ) though nobody guaranties the smartphone will arrive on its launch day.
Another aspect you must know is the price. Bell and Virgin Mobile is offering the Galaxy Nexus for only $160, this on a three year commitment and if you make an online pre-order. In UK at Three, the device costs £500 (the SIM-free version), or if you want a new 2-year contract, the lowest price we could find was Text 500, which slashed £34 / month off your wallet. Further aspects are revealed once you sign in on Bell’s or Virgin’s Mobile websites.
For those who don’t know, Galaxy Nexus is the first handset to come featuring the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, being something exclusively for all of us. This new platform brought by Google wants to “link” the two present Android OS versions, the Gingerbread and the Honeycomb. This will unveil an improved OS that will be supported by tablets and phones in the same way; with ICS there will be no gap between tablets and smartphones, all being embraced by the same software. Now, you can tell why this is such a highly expected device.
Beside its operating system, the Galaxy Nexus is also coming with some interesting specs. The phone is running a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage memory, a 5MP rear facing camera capable of 1080p recording and support for the following networks: HSDPA+ 21.1 Mbit/s, HSDPA 14.4 Mbit/s, UMTS, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, EDGE/GPRS. On the other hand, the design is well done with a soft texture for a natural grip, the 4.65-inch Super AMOLED multi-touch display appearing more than appealing.
