Sony Vaio YB Notebook Specifications and Pictures
Sony has quietly updated its Vaio YB-series budget notebook line to include a new model with a 1.65 GHz AMD E-450 dual core processor and Radeon HD 6310 graphics.
When the Sony Vaio YB launched earlier this year, the notebook featured a 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 chip and Radeon HD 6250 graphics. I wouldn’t expect a dramatic difference in performance — and I certainly wouldn’t recommend any current YB-series laptop users upgrade to get the new model. But if you’ve been eyeing Sony’s 11.6 inch notebook, it looks like it now packs a little more power.
The new notebook features 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB, 5400RPM hard drive, and an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit.
The Sony Vaio YB measures 11.4″ x 8″ x 1.25″ and weighs about 3.2 pounds. It has 3 USB ports, a VGA port, HDMI port, mic and headphone jacks, and a flash card reader that can handle SD cards and Sony Memory Stick Duo cards.
Newegg is selling the notebook for $480.
Other notebooks that have received an AMD E-450 spec bump recently include the Asus Eee PC 1215B, MSI Wind U270, and HP Pavilion dm1.
