RIM BlackBerry Bold 9790 And Curve 9380 Confirmed Specifications and Pictures
Research In Motion has just indirectly announced two new BlackBerry 7 smartphones, the Curve 9380 aka Orlando/Malibu and the Bold 9790 aka Bellagio. The announcement came in the form of a post containing screen details released by RIM for developers. This was bound to come sooner or later, as the official announcement also is, since we’ve recently spotted the Bold 9790 on a leaked document from Canada’s WIND Mobile. The device was labeled as “new” along a few other BlackBerry 7 handsets, like the Bold 9900, the Torch 9810 and the Curve 9360.
The first upcoming handset that RIM introduced to the developers is the BlackBerry Curve ‘Touch’ 9380. It owns a touch interface and its 3.2 inch display features a 360 x 480 resolution at 189 pixels per inch, a 4:3 aspect ration in the landscape view and 0.13425 mm dot pitch. We should mention that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 builds will most likely be compatible with the new Curve 9380.
The second BB7 powered device from RIM is the BlackBerry Bold 9790 which features a 2.44 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels in portrait view. Its 4:3 landscape aspect ratio features 245 pixels per inch and 0.1035 mm dot pitch. Application developers will have the opportunity to borrow apps from the Bold 9700 by adding touch support or from the Torch 9800 by modifying the orientation for the landscape view.
Research In Motion have also released Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 simulators and all that’s left to do now is wait for apps to be developed and officially announce the two devices.
