Leica just can’t help itself when it comes to special editions, and yet we can’t help but feel a little tempted by the new Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium. Functionally identical to the existing 10-megapixel D-Lux 5, the Titanium edition has a special titanium-finish casing and matching leather case along with the cachet of knowing you’ve given into your base, aesthete urges.

There’s a 3.8x optical zoom, face detection autofocus mode and various preset scenes to get the best of the lighting and shooting conditions, along with both RAW and JPEG support. ISO 80 to 12,800 is supported, along with 60s to 1/4000s shutter speeds and 2.5fps continuous shooting. On the back there’s a 3-inch preview display, though you can also slot on the optional Leica EVF1 electronic viewfinder.

Up to 720p video recording is supported, complete with mono sound, while connectivity includes USB, HDMI and analog TV output. No word on pricing for the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium edition, which is set to go on sale sometime this month, but the regular D-Lux 5 is priced at around $785.
