HTC Rhyme Smartphone Specifications and Pictures
The woman-oriented smartphone that leaked earlier this year, HTC Rhyme is now available in the UK from O2 carrier.
Customers, women or men, can get this one for free from O2 UK, but they are required to subscribe for a new two-year agreement starting at £21.00 ($34 or 24 EUR).
If the plethora of additional accessories doesn't make the Rhyme more appealing, than the fact that it's free for grabbing will surely make it more attractive than other Android smartphones.
Also known as HTC Bliss, the Rhyme was officially introduced last month, but only recently hits shelves in the UK and a few other countries.
Although the phone is free, HTC Rhyme is a mid-budget device and a bang for buck, especially given its hardware configuration.
Powered by Google's Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system with HTC's proprietary Sense 3.5 user interface, the Rhyme promises to offer enhanced web browsing and multimedia experiences.
In addition, users can customize their phones via Android Market, which provides access to more than 250,000 (some say 500,000) applications.
Google's full suite of apps and services is integrated as well, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and Picasa.
On the inside, HTC Rhyme is equipped with a single core 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit, 4GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB card included).
HTC bundled all sorts of connectivity options within the Rhyme, including HSDPA support, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as Blueooth 3.0 and built-in GPS receiver.
It is also worth mentioning that the HTC Rhyme comes with a cube-shaped accessory called 'charm indicator' that can be attached to the phone with a cord.
The accessory lights up, thus notifying the user that he/she has just received a message or missed a call.
