The new Acer Aspire AS5250-0639 and Asus K53U-DH21 15.6-inchers sport the 1.65GHz dual core E-450 with the integrated Radeon HD 6320 graphics controller and the UVD 1080p video decoder. It seems that 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD setups are becoming a standard even in the budget laptop segment. These memory and storage amounts are present in both the AS5250-0639 and K53U-DH21.

The notebooks sport LED 1366×768 screens and DVD burners, webcams, HDMI, Windows 7 Home Premium, and 6-cell batteries.

According to Aspire’s specifications, it has a battery life of up to up to 4.5 hours. There’s no info on the battery life for the Asus model, but you can expect similar run times, since both have the same internals and 6-cell battery units.

Price tags? The Acer Aspire AS5250-0639 and Asus K53U-DH21 cost $400 and $450, respectively.
