2010 MINI E Sports Car Specifications and Pictures

.

The MINI E is the latest exciting electric car to make its way past the stage of bold promises and into actual hard numbers, and soon into the garages of drivers in California, New York and New Jersey. Though not quite achieving the raw performance numbers of the MINI Cooper S and with a ho-hum stock top speed of an electronically limited 95 mph, the MINI E will "smoke" a Toyota Prius, all without ever using a drop of fuel.

BMW, the parent company of MINI, has pulled out all the stops on the 2010 MINI E, and will presumably be selling the limited-run electric cars at a loss to drum up excitement for its future environmentally friendly sports car models. 500 units will initially be available, all of them to commercial and private buyers on the East and West coasts. The rest of the county, and the world, will have to wait though BMW has hinted that electric models should be coming soon to European buyers as well.
